West Highland Way Insights
Looking at the name of this post, I think it’s clear to see that this next post up on my blog is going to be about The West Highland Way! 😁 Since this blog is related to everything hill walking, I thought it would be a good idea to dedicate a post to the West Highland Way!
I know a lot of you would have your fave walks but the West Highland Way does just have the whole package! There are a range of lovely accommodations, you get to meet lovely people along the way, the food is unbelievably good, and the scenery is just absolutely breath-taking that it will be burned into your memory.
We started at Milngavie where we walked along to Drymen. This walk was around 12 miles, and on the way we seen lovely views of the hills, pics below for reference x
The journey here was an excellent warm up for where we had to walk to next! It is mostly flat compared to other parts of the route and we fairly enjoyed our time walking from Milngavie to Drymen as the views were just magnificent. There were some rough patches that we encountered, but once we got into the rhythm all the dread had turned into excitement!!
The whole transition from starting off just outside Glasgow, through the lovely Loch Lomond, and then the climbing up to the Highlands is just amazing! The view just unfolds right in front of you. Everyday that we continued walking we felt more and more accomplished, it was definitely worth it!
Even the social aspect of the walk is a highlight of mine, the chat that you encounter along the way is inclusive and friendly, and the atmosphere is so great that it just brings everyone together!! To me the West Highland Way is just magical and I cant wait to do it all over again this summer!
Thanks for reading guys, and tune in next week for another post! Ps heres a pic of me and the fam in the Wigwams that we stayed in X
Stay groovy my dudes, speak soon xo
