West Highland Way Insights

Looking at the name of this post, I think it’s clear to see that this next post up on my blog is going to be about The West Highland Way!  😁 Since this blog is related to everything hill walking, I thought it would be a good idea to dedicate a post to the West Highland Way! I know a lot of you would have your fave walks but the West Highland Way does just have the whole package! There are a range of lovely accommodations, you get to meet lovely people along the way, the food is unbelievably good, and the scenery is just absolutely breath-taking that it will be burned into your memory.  We started at Milngavie where we walked along to Drymen. This walk was around 12 miles, and on the way we seen lovely views of the hills, pics below for reference x  The journey here was an excellent warm up for where we had to walk to next! It is mostly flat compared to other parts of the route and we fairly enjoyed our time walking from Milngavie to Drymen as the views were just magnific...

A little bit about me

I wanted to start with a bit about me. My name is Lisa Venman, and I am 21 years old. I am from a small town on the west coast of Scotland called Kilwinning. Pic of me here for reference x   I have been hill walking since I was quite young with my Mum and Dad. It has always been an enjoyable hobby of mine since then. When I was around 14, I did the West Highland Way with my family and friends. This consisted of walking 96 miles ) from Milngavie to Fort William, taking in a huge variety of scenery along the way, from countryside parks to loch-shores and open moorlands to steep mountains. I started the West Highland Way on the 27 th  of July 2013.  I know what you are all thinking, long time ago, how can you remember anything from then? Well… What I can tell you is, that walking the West Highland Way is an experience of a lifetime, even only if you are walking, its not about that its about the views and scenery, and all the new people that you meet on the way...
